Have you ever felt unfulfilled, unhappy, and wake up dreading your day? Or maybe you’ve felt a calling to do what you love but you want to play it safe? Today, I’m sharing with you 5 ways to start designing and living your dream life!
1. Visualize your perfect day:
The first step in designing your dream life is to, well, design! However, when asked to design their dream life, most people tend to try to plan it all out, which they will quickly realize to be a daunting task. Instead, I personally recommend breaking your “dream life” down and just focusing on a smaller portion; for example, just visualizing your perfect day. Think about the types of events that you want to include in your perfect day: going to the gym, cooking dinner, getting 9 hours of sleep, etc. Most of the time, your dream life will have very similar vibes to your perfect day, so this is the perfect way to simplify your planning.
2. Analyze your current position
Once you have visualized your perfect/dream life, take a moment to analyze how your current life compares to your dream life – financially, socially, and emotionally. For example, are you currently financially stable & happy with your job? Many people try to disregard this step and bury their problems away, but it is extremely important to be honest with yourself and face your problems head-on. This will help you understand what areas you will need to improve & change on, if any.
3. Create a plan!
Using the information you gathered from the previous step, it’s time to create a roadmap. Oooh, a fancy-schmancy word here! You’d be surprised at how many people attempt to wing it and end up failing. Instead, I highly recommend identifying your end goal and creating an “outline” of sorts with steps on how you will achieve the larger goal. For example, if your dream life includes losing weight and eating healthier, perhaps create a plan with steps on how you will lose the pounds. You already have the big picture, but the plan is the steps on how you’ll achieve it.

4. Set baby goals:
This step is seemingly obvious, but again, you’d be surprised as to how many people fail due to overwhelm. To combat this, be sure to take time to analyze your plan & break it up into baby goals that will be easier to achieve. Using the example above: baby goals you can set include “limit fast food to once a week” or “lose one pound a week”. By setting small goals, you will see progress quicker & not get overwhelmed as easily!
5. Work it, baby.
From my personal experience, this is where the majority of us fail. Whether it’s because of a dwindling source of motivation, or just disinterest in the goal, it’s much too easy to quit and give up…. but if you work hard and stay focused, YOU CAN DO IT!
