Wow, can you believe it’s already July? The first half of 2018 is already over! It definitely went by quick, which is, of course, a reminder for me to enjoy summer before the back-to-school season arrives in August!
In today’s video, I’m sharing my current summer morning routine – it’s definitely very different from my school year morning routine, and I try to make the most out of this relaxing season! I hope you enjoy this updated healthy and productive summer morning routine and enjoy this happy season!
1. Wake Up Slowly
This is something I don’t really get to do during the school year…. but now it’s summertime! Whenever my alarm rings, I usually turn it off, but instead of immediately jumping out of bed, I’ll grab my phone and scroll through Instagram or Pinterest for a little while, or until I feel a bit more awake. Gotta stay in that cozy bed for a lil bit longer!
2. Make my bed and tidy up
Once I’ve finally got myself out of bed (which, believe me, can be pretty hard on some days), I’ll immediately make my bed and tidy up my room. This is super quick and easy, basically, all I do is straighten my blanket and decorate my pillows. Making my bed gives off such a feeling of accomplishment and makes me feel so much more productive! Plus, it helps the whole bedroom seem way more tidied and organized, which I definitely thank myself for later on during the day!
3. Freshen up & hydrate
Next up, I head to my bathroom to brush my teeth and freshen up. Currently, I’m in love with this Cetaphil oil control foam wash which leaves my skin feeling super clean but not dry at all! Afterward, I might dab on a little bit of coconut oil as a moisturizer if I’m feeling it, but otherwise, I go au’ natural!
4. Drink up, buttercup!
It’s SO important to hydrate yourself, especially if you’ve been asleep for 8+ hours so I’ll head downstairs and drink a few cups of water. I’m currently trying to drink 70oz of water each day, so it’s best to start early! Plus, drinking water contributes to clearer skin, more energy, and an increased metabolism! Sometimes I’ll add some lemon juice to my water, but I haven’t found that it comes with any benefits, though.
5. Fuel up with a healthy breakfast!
Immediately afterward comes breakfast, which I’ll admit is probably one of my favorite things all day. Because it’s summertime, I usually try to stick with a light and fruity dish. Some of my current favorites are a yogurt bowl with strawberries, blueberries, and banana; cereal and fruit; and fruit smoothies! It’s so important not to skip breakfast because it fuels you up for the rest of the day & it boosts metabolism!
Afterward, I’ll go back to my room and just have a relaxing/productive day! I’ll usually hang out on social media, work on blog posts, read a book, and get some homework assignments done! I almost always head outside for a quick workout during the evening to enjoy the weather and long summer days too! Have a magical summer, and I’ll see you guys soon!
